Have just reviewed some great new titles from amongst the plethora of Christmas books this year, on ABC Radio on my usual segment with Rebecca McLaren. This was our last show before the Christmas break. Scary, right?

ONE NIGHT by Penny Matthews, illustrated by Stephen Michael King and published by Omnibus Books is the retelling of a classic European Christmas tale.

THE UGLY DUCKLING written in 1951 by Frank Loesser, performed by Justine Clarke and illustrated by Nathaniel Eckstrom. Published by Scholastic Australia.

THE NIGHTS BEFORE CHRISTMAS: 24 classic stories to share is a literary Advent calendar, with one reading for every night leading up to Christmas and includes work by Charles Dickens, Louisa May Allcott, The Brothers Grimm, Kenneth Grahame and Oscar Wilde. A brilliant collection of poems, songs, extracts from novels and short stories and other pieces for Christmas. Stunning illos by Tony Ross. Published by Koala.
